As I was trying to get together with my best high school friends in CA, one of them said she couldn't make it because she was going to be in Seattle. That's funny, that's where we are going! Turns out her trip overlapped with our trip by a few days. Hooray!! We met up with Julie at the closest breakfast joint I could find. So glad we could catch up!
We said good-bye to Deanna (for today) in Seattle and drove to Lake Stevens to visit with Granddad Bruce (Clay's dad) & Grandma Kris at their brand-new house. Kris had a great project for the girls to work on -a vertical planter.
Kris sent us a picture of it about a month later:
Rebekah and Grace, their dove.
We took a tour of the Boeing factory in Everett. www.futureofflight.org
This is the LARGEST building in the world. I couldn't even fit it all in the camera view from a mile away. We couldn't take pictures inside, but imagine being inside a building where 747 airplanes are lined up side by side and look small. They told us that Disneyland would fit inside with room to spare.
This new 787 was being taken up for its first flight.
The Dreamlifter is a converted 747 that they use to transport sections of the 787 from the South Carolina factory up to Everett, WA for final assembly.
After the tour, we had dinner with Bruce & Kris and then drove up to Bellingham to hang out with Clay's sister, Kerry, and her family.
