Little Red Hen again

I decided to try my hand at making some granola today. I got a couple different recipes from friends. This one I had all the ingredients for (no nuts b/c I don't really like them). Anyway, it turned out really good and was easy to make. Now I can add that to my list of things to make (bread, dinner rolls, and now granola).

Dutch Wonderland again

The first time we went to Dutch Wonderland I was doing a mystery shop. All we had to do was buy one ticket for Emma, and we were given two tickets for us (Rebekah is still free). As payment for the mystery shop, they sent us 3 more tickets to go back. So we got 2 trips for our family to Dutch Wonderland for the price of 1 child's ticket. Not bad.

A brush with nature...

Clay and Emma were outside when a butterfly landed on Emma's finger! When does that happen??? Maybe she spilled some maple syrup on her finger from breakfast...

This is a Red-spotted Purple (Limenitis arthemis astyanax).

Rebekah's new bed

We traded Rebekah's crib for a toddler bed. She loves it! Right after we set it up, she ASKED to take a nap and slept for over 3 hours in it! That hasn't really happened again.
As you can see, she is still getting used to sleeping in it. :)

First day of school

Emma was so excited to start school today. She wants to walk to school by herself, we compromised by letting her walk with a 5th grade girl that lives across the street. Being the first day of school I still wanted to walk her to school, but she didn't want me to. We compromised again by walking 2 yards behind her. She is growing up! And definitely wanting her independence!

Swim day

I took the girls to our town's new outdoor pool. They had a great time. We spent about an hour in the lazy river.

Emma went down this slide about a dozen times.

Meanwhile, Rebekah went down this slide about 50 times!

Emma trying out the lily pads.

Rebekah had a great time talking to the "baby whale" that "lost her mommy".

More Sew Magic

I made Emma this skirt and dress for Felicity out of the fabric left over from Rebekah's mu'u mu'u my friend made.

I also made this dress for Emma's birthday. It was supposed to be a summer dress for her, but it took a little longer to finish. :)
