Heard in the car

I was driving with both girls. We started playing the "animal game" (aka 20 questions). Then Rebekah decided to change it to people. They went through some funny ones. Then I heard the following:

Emma: Someone who is really annoying but I love her.
Rebekah: Me!
Emma: Yes.
Rebekah: My turn! Someone that is super annoying and mean but I still love her.
Emma: Me!
Rebekah: Yes.

Lego Club

Rebekah started Lego Club once a week after-school. I told her she would most likely be the only girl with a bunch of boys. She replied "I don't care. I like legos."
Turns out there are 3 other girls in the class (and at least twice as many boys).
Each week the get an "assignment" to design a certain type of thing. These are her creations. She is a creative girl. She absolutely loved going to Lego Club.

Fashion Activity

Another fun activity we did for the Activity Day girls.
This time we talk about modesty. We sent the girls in different rooms to create outfits out of newspapers that were modest and they could wear to school or church.
At the end we gave them all an Oreo. However, we placed it on their forehead. They weren't allowed to use their hands and they had to move it down to their mouth. It was a very funny sight.

Snow Tubing

With all the snow we got, it was a great time to enjoy it. We took the girls to Liberty to go snow tubing.
The girls had a ton of fun! I stayed nice and warm in the lodge. Unfortunately, they didn't have free WiFi there, only at the main lodge.
Rebekah is definitely at that stage that she is tired of all the photos we take and doesn't want to cooperate anymore.

The BIG Snow

We got about 16 inches of snow overnight.
In these pictures you can see the top of the fire hydrant, the snow piled against our screen door on the deck, and our neighbors car completely covered.
I took my time getting up in the morning and getting out to shovel. My neighbor with the long driveway behind me got out just before 8:00 to start on his driveway with his snow blower. I got out around 10:30 and ALL my neighbors were out working hard. As soon as they saw me start to shovel they all said, "Where's Clay??" "In Boston" I answered. They were so great. They instantly came over with two snow blowers and more shovels and got my driveway done quickly. I LOVE my neighbors!! They really are the best you could ever ask for.

Clay got to skip all the snow. It only snowed a little up in Boston. I was worried that he might not be able to fly in the next day. Thankfully, the airport was cleared by then and he made it back just fine.

He had a business meeting at M.I.T. After his meetings he met up with some former coworkers who live up there now. Here are some photos he took of his trip.
I don't know who this guy is. Maybe Clay can edit the text and will you in more on his trip.

New doll clothes

Rebekah got a surprise package in the mail. Grandma Kris made this cute outfit for her doll. She does such a great job!

Tin Lanterns

We had a fun activity for the girls this week for Activity Days.
We had soup cans, painted and filled with ice. Then they took a heart template and hammered nail holes in the can. The ice helped the cans keep their shape while they hammered.
It was a fun activity for the girls. We related it to the scripture in Matthew 5:14-16 about being an example for others and letting their own light shine.

Honor Roll

Emma made the all A's Honor roll again for 2nd Quarter at school. :)

Freezing Rain and Friends

We woke up this morning to ice on everything. Made driving really tricky, but looked really cool on the trees.
This is Rebekah's friend Landry. She gets after-school care at my neighbors house. They are good friends so she often ends up at our house. Today, they were wearing the same shirts! Both handed-down from their older sisters.

Roller Skating

We had a fun CAR meeting today. Had a bit of business to go over and then we went roller skating. It was a great chance for the kids to just have fun together.
