Kayak & Sunset cruise

On Saturday we rented a kayak and took it out to Kane'ohe Bay. Kane'ohe Bay is our favorite place in Oahu. The bay has a barrier reef, so it is as calm as a lake. There is also a huge sandbar about 1 mile wide and 1 mile long. We took our kayak out past the sandbar to Kapapa Island and had a picnic with the nesting birds. The island about 2-1/4 miles off shore and is about 3 acres. I took lots of pictures, but they were with a disposable waterproof camera.

UPDATE: here are the pictures!

The sandbar is the pale area ahead of the kayak. And beyond that, you can see Kapapa Island.

The sandbar is pretty shallow, so Clay decided to get out and walk.

On Kapapa island looking towards Oahu.

There's Clay, under the windswept tree where we ate our lunch.

Right as we were leaving a small group pulled up in their boat and took a picture for us.

That evening we took a sunset cruise on a catamaran. After the sun set Clay pointed out all the constellations to everyone. Then we saw the International Space Station fly across the sky. That truly made Clay's day.
