New Church Building

Today was our first Sunday in our new ward building. It was very exciting. We are so blessed to be just 0.6 miles from our new building. I was in the building earlier that week getting things ready and took some pictures.
This is the Chapel. We filled it plus another 10 rows of chairs behind the last pew.

This is the Primary room. In the picture it is set up for Seminary, but on Sunday we had it full of chairs for all the children.

More sewing

I made a mantle scarf today for fall. I bought the fabric last year, but never found the time to make it. I am happy with the way it turned out.

Apple picking

This morning we went out to a local orchard to pick-your-own apples. We normally do this during the county farm tour, but Emma will be at a girl scout camp. She really wanted to go to the camp, but she also really wanted to go apple picking. So, we went a little early this year. The girls loved it! And tomorrow we are making apple crisp!

Magic of paint

After picking apples we stopped by the open house for a pediatric dental office that our friends just opened. They had a moon bounce, popcorn, pizza, and face painting. The gal doing the face painting was REALLY good!

Invasion!

...of the stink bugs! This was in our local paper today:

Last year in the fall, after moving into our new home, we noticed a few beetles creeping in and hanging out in the windows. They didn't really do much, so I would just catch them and dispose of them. This year they seem to have quadrupled! And it turns out they are stink bugs!

Rebekah has taken to trying to catch them with her bare hands. They see her coming and let off their stink. So now I have to find the before she does. You know, we lived in the townhouse for almost 6 years and I never once saw them!

Preschool

Today is Rebekah's first day of preschool. We are doing a little co-op with friends for about an hour once a week. Just a simple lesson at the beginning and the rest playtime. She is so happy! It is really what she & I need right now. She will start kindergarten in the fall of 2012.

Little Red Hen again

I decided to try my hand at making some granola today. I got a couple different recipes from friends. This one I had all the ingredients for (no nuts b/c I don't really like them). Anyway, it turned out really good and was easy to make. Now I can add that to my list of things to make (bread, dinner rolls, and now granola).
