This morning we said goodbye to our friends, the Ulericks, and drove 6 hours to Nauvoo, Illinois.
After we checked into our hotel we walked around the Nauvoo Temple. When we were here in 2001, they were just putting the sun stones on the temple. How great to see it now completed.
Here is a sun stone from the original temple completed in 1846.
Behind the visitor's center is a sculpture garden, a Monument_to_Women in the various stages of life and responsibilities.
We wanted to arrive in Nauvoo early enough to see the Nauvoo_Pageant. 1.5 hours before the pageant they had a Frontier Family Fair with fun activities for the kids to try out.
We ran into Clay's friend, Chris Brinton (and his family), who was there as part of the pageant.
Unfortunately, right after we got there I realized the battery was dead in my camera. I had to run back to the hotel and sit and charge it for as long as I could before the actual pageant started.
Rebekah fell asleep on my lap in what looks like a very uncomfortable position.
