I really don't like white walls. But it takes me FOREVER to pick out paint colors. We finally got around to painting our powder room and basement guest bathroom. The color is Amethyst_Phlox, it doesn't quite show up right in these pictures, but you get the idea.
Here is what our garden is looking like. We've got a lot of things growing right now: strawberries, broccoli, tomatoes, carrots, radishes, marigolds, zucchini, cilantro, mint, rosemary, oregano, cucumbers, lettuce, spinach, potatoes, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries. While I was out taking this picture of the garden I noticed we had a visitor: There is no way he is going to get in. We've got chicken wire, fencing 6 ft high, and netting on top. But he was looking for a way...
We had an activity tonight for the women at church, I was asked to make 24 cupcakes, decorated in white. I decided I wanted to make a mini-tiered cake too (top layer is just 2 inches). Just for fun to see what I could do. I wanted to cover it in fondant, but my fondant wasn't working, so it's just butter cream with edible pearl decorations.
Clay and I have been spending a lot of time working in the garden. The girls have been helping with planting seeds and watering. Today we harvested our first salad. It tasted so good. You are welcome to stop by and share in our bounty. :)
This is what we have been up to for the past few weeks. This is the year we decided to put a garden in. Clay has been doing most of the work getting it ready. He built a 10x14 box so we could to a raised bed. We put in a tall fence around it to keep the deer out. Wish us luck!
Now that the days are getting shorter, we decided it was time to get some lights installed. The bedrooms had no lights, and Rebekah as personally broken 3 lamps and 7 light bulbs. Also, our family room had ZERO lights.
Here is our family room now, with ceiling fan and 6 recessed lights.
In the kitchen 2 blue pendant lights over the island and swapped out the light over the breakfast table.
In the dining room we swapped out the chandelier.
This is the light we put in two of the bedrooms.
Emma got this cute little chandelier in her bedroom.
When we moved into our new home the cabinets in the kitchen didn't have any knobs of pulls. Which is fine, but when you put child locks on everything it makes it harder to get in without something to grab. It took me a while to decide what hardware I wanted. This evening, Clay installed all 28 pulls in the kitchen, and 8 knobs in the bathrooms. It really makes it look so much nicer.
