Oklahoma City Memorial Service

The girls instantly fell in love with Clay's college-age cousin, Ian. Rebekah would not leave his side. We eventually had to tell her to give him a break.
Here we are with Bruce & Kris, Uncle Paul & Nina & Ian.
The girls also liked this stained glass just behind the podium of the funeral home.
Here's everyone at the grave site. All four of Deanie's sons and their wives. Both of her sisters, Mona & Tava, were also able to attend.

Here are more pictures of Rebekah and Ian together.

This was after we told Rebekah she had to give Ian a break.
Now, anger forgotten, she is back to her old self, making art with fallen leaves.

Clay's other grandparents, Alonzo Lemuel & Flora Mae Murray, are buried in the same cemetery.
We took some time to visit them too.

Johnnie's

After the funeral in Kansas City, we drove down to Oklahoma City for another memorial service. Clay's Grandparents, Deanie & Joe, grew up in Oklahoma and retired in Oklahoma. It was only the last few years that Deannie moved to Kansas City to be closer to family.

Kerry was supposed to drive down with us. However, Adrian's mother was just diagnosed with a brain tumor and put on hospice care. Kerry drove to St. Louis to be with Adrian and his mother. (She passed away on Dec 6th)

When in Oklahoma you have to go to Johnnie's Charcoal Broiler. We met Aunt Donese (Clay's mom's sister) there for lunch.

Then we went back for dinner with Bruce & Kris. Uncle David and his family had the same idea so we all sat together.
Emma is wearing a scarf she picked out to remember Great-grandma Deannie.

Kansas City Memorial Service

Earlier I mentioned that Clay's grandmother passed away. You can read about her here.

We all flew out to Kansas City together for her memorial service. It was so great to see so many of the Hunt family there. Here are just some of the descendants (& spouses) of Joe & Adeanya. They had 4 sons, of which Bruce (not pictured) is the oldest. Clay is the oldest grandchild, and Emma the oldest great-grandchild.

In this photo we have added Adeanya's sister, Mona, and her family.

Kerry & Clay
I just love this b/c it shows that we are still having fun together!

Adeanya was an accomplished artist and loved to do decoupage and make her own rugs. Here are some of the things that she made.
