Egg Hunt
We love going to the Easter Egg Hunt at Ida Lee. Clay took the girls because I wasn't feeling too well. Emma is now too old for the hunt but could still enjoy all the inflatable bounces, rides and climbing wall. Rebekah can still do the hunt. Can you tell how excited she is? Clay instructed Rebekah to go straight to the far side of the enclosure and start picking eggs up from there. Her basket was full and she was all alone back there before anyone got near her.

Ballet Recital
Emma's piano teacher also teaches dance classes. She has a daughter the same age as Rebekah (just 9 days apart). This was their final class in which the parents got to sit and watch. It's so much fun to watch a bunch of 5 year old girls dance and spin and twirl around.

Talent Show
Tonight was the school's talent show. Emma played Hedwig's Theme from Harry Potter. She dressed up in her Ravenclaw costume from Halloween and brought her wand and broom with her. She did a great job. We video taped it in two parts so that the file size would not bee to big to post here.

Cherry Blossoms
The weather has been so warm lately that the cherry blossoms have come out very early. We started by walking around the Smithsonian Castle gardens.
The girls wanted to take pictures of each other by the cherry trees. These are their shots.
We stopped to have a picnic dinner by the Potomac River. The ducks came to look for hand outs. Look how close they got!
After our picnic we walked around the tidal basin.
On our way around we noticed something new on the west side. As we got closer we realized it was the new Martin Luther King Jr memorial.

St Patrick's Day Parade
Today we marched in the Alexandria_Saint_Patrick's_Day_Parade!! The girls love it, they think they are famous now. All of this was done to support Clay's uncle who is running for Congress.
You can't see his face, but Uncle Jay is in the center with a green jacket. |
The girls got to help out by handing out doggie treats as they walked in the parade.
