Terra Cotta Warriors

We went into DC to see the Terra Cotta Warriors at the National Geographic Museum. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terracotta_Army A few of the Warriors are on loan from Xian China. We realize that we may never make it to China to see these warriors so we didn't want to miss this opportunity.

One of the things we realized is that we might have had a better experience here than we could have in China. A few seasons ago on the Amazing Race the contestants went to Xian and had a clue they had to read at the viewing area for the warriors. They were on a platform high above the soldiers. Here at the museum, they were only a few feet away from us. We could see the little flecks of red paint still on the generals ribbons from 200 BC!!

We weren't allowed to take pictures of the actual ones, but here we are by a replica.

And here is Clay with the model at the end of the exhibit. He was one of those street performers who stands still and then scares everyone when they get too close.
