Since it was already snowing, we decided to take the girls ice skating.
It was Rebekah's first time ice skating. She did pretty well.
Emma is a natural on the ice. She is confident and just takes right off. She loves it and has been asking for lessons for some time now.

Happy Birthday Clay
Happy birthday to the most wonderful husband in the world!
One of the things Clay wanted for his birthday was the new Star Trek movie. So I made it a special "Space" cake for his birthday (chocolate with cream cheese frosting).
"Live long and prosper", "Space, the final frontier". Like my little Star Fleet insignia?

Trip to DC
Clay's cousin, Jennifer, was in town for the weekend, so we joined them in DC for a little sightseeing.
Here's Jennifer with her sons Jonah and Jason.
This is the ceiling of the dome. The painting is called The Apotheosis of Washington. There are 2 statues from every state throughout the Capitol. And the white one is a model of the Statue of Freedom on the top of the dome. Jennifer's friends came with us, Emma loved their daughter, Bella. She did great at practicing for babysitting. :)
We ended our day by walking over to see the White House.

Family Gathering
My grandfather, Blaine William Carruth, passed away on Jan 7th just a few weeks before his 100th birthday. I flew up to Utah for his funeral.
This picture was taken in 2002 when he was 92 years old (only the top half is him). He loved life, the outdoors, and his family. He was the only grandfather I knew, and I am so lucky to have had him for a grandfather.
It was a big Carruth family reunion for the funeral. So many of my cousins I hadn't seen in over 15 years. We are all grown up now with families of our own.
Grandpa's 6 beauties (standing in order, as always). My mom is on the left.
