My little helper
You might be wonder why I haven't updated my blog in a while...This is why.
In an effort to get all the information I need for my DAR application I signed up on www.findagrave.com It is a great volunteer database of cemeteries in the US. You can request photos of headstones from anywhere. I also signed up to take photos of the cemeteries near me. While Emma was at camp, I have been taking Rebekah to different cemeteries in the area to help take photos for others.
I have also been spending a lot of time in the Family History Library looking at microfilm to find more documentation that I need for my application. I am almost done, I just need a couple more photos of headstone in Nephi, Utah...

All about Emma
I am so proud of Emma! Our school participates in the Accelerated Reader program. In this program, kids pick out AR books from the library, read them, and then take a test on the book for points. The school offers prizes when they get to certain point levels.
Emma thrives on this reward program! She started the year off not wanting to read at all because it was "too much work!" Her teacher introduced Emma to the program and told us that the goal for 1st Grade is to get to 5 points. Most of the books Emma has brought home have been 0.5 points. For example, the Junie B. Jones First Grader books are worth 1 point, The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe is worth 6 points, Jurassic Park is worth 20 points. You get a percentage of the points based on the % right you got on the quiz.
Emma came home today and announced that she reached the 50 point club today! I love that she has improved so much since the beginning of the year and loves to pick out new books to read. Way to go Emma!! Oh yeah, and don't you like her new haircut!
